The short version
- We collect your email address only if you sign up for Best of the Group.
- Google Analytics cookies stay off unless you accept them.
- We don't sell your information or use it for targeted advertising.
- You can unsubscribe, change your cookie choice, or ask us to delete your data at any time.
What we collect, why, and for how long
Email signup
When you sign up for Best of the Group, our weekly email, we collect your first name and email address. We use them to send the weekly email and the Cinnamon Roll Troubleshooter guide that comes with it. We store them with our email provider, Kit. You confirm your signup by clicking a link in a confirmation email, and every email includes an unsubscribe link.
Legal basis: your consent. Kept: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. After you unsubscribe, Kit may keep your address on a do-not-email list so you aren't emailed again.
Google Analytics (only if you accept)
If you click "Accept" on our cookie banner, we load Google Analytics. It uses cookies to measure which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are (country or city level), what devices they use, and how they found us. It also records which Baker's Pantry product links you click. If you decline, or never answer the banner, none of this is loaded or recorded.
Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time (see below). Kept: no more than 14 months in Google Analytics.
Cookie-free visit statistics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It doesn't use cookies or store anything on your device, and it reports only totals (pages, referring sites, country, device type) that don't identify you.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing which pages are useful, in a way that doesn't identify you.
Server logs
Like any website, our host, Vercel, briefly processes technical details of each request (your IP address, browser type, and the page requested) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website. Kept: for a short period under Vercel's standard log retention.
Emails you send us
If you email us, we use your message and address to reply. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you. Kept: as long as needed to handle your request.
Posts from our Facebook group
Our group is public. Best of the Group sometimes features members' public posts, using your first name, our own description of your bake, and a link to your post. We never name members who asked for help, and we only include your photos or videos with your permission. If you'd rather not be featured, email us and we'll leave your posts out. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in sharing the community's work, balanced by your right to opt out.
Cookies and similar technology
- Your cookie choice is saved in your browser's local storage (
cr365_cookie_consent) so we don't ask on every page. It stays until you clear it. - Google Analytics cookies (
_gaand_ga_*) are set only after you accept, and last up to 2 years unless you clear them or withdraw consent. - Affiliate partners such as Amazon set their own cookies on their own websites after you follow one of our product links. Those cookies are covered by their privacy policies.
Changing your mind: use the button below to bring back the cookie banner. If you decline after accepting, we stop Google Analytics right away and delete its cookies.
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track: if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as declining analytics cookies. Because analytics is off by default, we don't need to respond separately to "Do Not Track" signals.
Affiliate links
Some pages, including our Baker's Pantry, contain affiliate links. If you buy something through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. We don't receive any personal information about you from these purchases.
Who we share it with
We use these service providers, who process information on our behalf and only for the purposes above:
- Kit (email delivery), United States
- Google (Google Analytics, only with your consent), United States
- Vercel (website hosting and cookie-free statistics), United States
We don't sell personal information, and we don't "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising (as those terms are used in California law). We may disclose information if the law requires it.
International transfers
We and our service providers are based in the United States. If you visit from elsewhere, including the European Economic Area, the UK, or Canada, your information is processed in the US. Where the law requires it, our providers rely on recognized safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can:
- unsubscribe from our emails at any time, using the link in any email
- change or withdraw your cookie consent at any time
- ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy
- ask us to correct or delete it
In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, you also have the right to object to or restrict our use of your information, to data portability, and to complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).
In California and other US states with privacy laws, you have the right to know what we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing (we don't do either). We won't treat you differently for using these rights.
To make a request, email hello@cinnamonrolls365.com. We may ask you to confirm it's really you, and we'll respond within 30 days.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and we keep the information we hold to the minimum described here. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we use reputable providers and limit who has access.
Children
This site isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13, or under 16 in the EEA and UK, and they shouldn't sign up for our emails. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change significantly affects how we use your email address, we'll tell subscribers by email.
